ADD International Tanzania

In Tanzania, like many countries, disability is highly stigmatised and can lead to barriers of discrimination and exclusion. We work to build an inclusive society that understands disability as part and parcel of human diversity and that ensures that all development activities provide benefit for all.

In Tanzania our key focus is tackling the exclusion of disabled children from all aspects of education. We work with disability activists to empower disabled children and their families to access an education; we work with teachers and schools to help deliver inclusive environments, and together we hold powerholders to account for prioritising financial resources for inclusive education.

Across the country we work with 15 local Disabled People’s Organisations. Through them we are working with a total of 58,000 disabled people.
